THE first Dorset Credit Union continues to grow with a payout to members of around ?50,000 this year.
The community support organisation, which offers affordable loans and savings, has been helping members save throughout the year to ensure they avoid financial woes at Christmas.
This year has also seen a number of advances made by the Credit Union to make its service easier to use and benefit from.
Having introduced new prepaid cards, the union is also now embracing Twitter and Facebook in a bid to engage with younger people in the community and members will also soon be able to look up their balances and download loan application documents over the internet.
